Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla has announced recruitment for faculty positions on an academic arrangement basis under SO 364 of 2020. Applications are invited from non-PSC/retired persons for engagement as Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors for one year, extendable up to six years based on performance.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualifications and teaching experience should meet the standards set in S.O 285 dated 01-08-2021.
Maximum Age Limit: 67 years.
Non-Domiciles can also apply as per SO 296 dated 16-05-2024.

Application Fee

Rs. 500/- (Non-refundable), payable via bank draft in favor of Chief Accounts Officer, GMC Baramulla (J&K Bank, TP Baramulla).

Date of Birth Certificate
MBBS Degree & Mark Sheet
State/MCI Registration Certificate (for MBBS & PG Degree)
Post-Graduate or Higher Qualification Certificates (D.M/M.Ch./Ph.D.)
Experience Certificate issued by the competent authority
Published research papers in indexed/national journals
Proof of paper/poster presentations in conferences/seminars
Any other supporting documents as per Annexure A
Two recent passport-size photographs

Selection Criteria

Selection will be conducted as per Government Order No. 282-JK (HME) of 2023 dated 04-04-2023, and its corrigendum dated 06-04-2023.

Salary & Benefits

Professor: Additional Rs. 50,000/- monthly incentive.
Associate Professor: Additional Rs. 45,000/- monthly incentive.
House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per government norms.

Terms & Conditions

Appointment is purely on an academic arrangement basis with no right to regularization.
Maximum service period: 70 years (65 years for Dentistry faculty).
One-month notice or salary in lieu is required for resignation.
Candidates must not be engaged with any other medical college/institution.

Agreement Terms

Selected candidates must complete at least one year; failing which, one-month salary will be forfeited.
Tenure ends after 6 years or upon permanent faculty recruitment, whichever is earlier.
